This Privacy Policy explains how WorkPal ("WorkPal," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the WorkPal mobile application (the "App"). WorkPal helps people discover visa-sponsored jobs across multiple countries.

Who We Are
WorkPal is operated by Vince Product Studio by Vincenzo Panìco, based in Italy. For privacy matters, we are the "data controller" of your personal information.

Age Requirement
WorkPal is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. During registration we ask for your date of birth to confirm eligibility. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.
Information We Collect
a) Information you provide
Account details: full name, email address, date of birth, and a password (passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider, we never see your plain-text password).
Profile details (optional): current job position, industry, and home location.
Preferences: the countries and roles you select, and jobs you save to Favorites.
b) Information created as you use the App
Activity: searches you run, roles you view, jobs you bookmark, and notifications you receive.
Sign-in method: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (such as name and email) to create your account. With Sign in with Apple, you can choose "Hide My Email," in which case Apple gives us a private, anonymized relay email address that forwards to your real inbox, we only ever receive that relay address, not your actual email.
c) Information collected automatically (including for ads)
Device and usage data: device type, operating system version, app version, language, approximate region, and diagnostic data.
Advertising identifiers and related data collected by our advertising partner (Google AdMob) to deliver and measure ads. See Section 6.
d) Guest mode
If you browse without an account, your country and role preferences and saved favorites are stored locally on your device and are not linked to an account until you sign up or log in.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
Personalize the job feed and recommendations based on your preferences.
Save your favorites, search history, and settings.
Send you in-app notifications and account emails (such as verification and password-reset codes).
Display and measure advertising (see Section 6).
Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
Contract — to provide the App and your account.
Consent — for personalized advertising and tracking (you can withdraw consent at any time; see Sections 6 and 9).
Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the App.
Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data by law.
Advertising
We show ads in the App using Google AdMob (a Google service). To serve, personalize, cap, and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process device information and advertising identifiers.
App Tracking Transparency (Apple): On iOS, we ask for your permission before tracking you across apps and websites for personalized advertising. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will be less personalized.
Consent (EEA/UK): Where required, we present a Google-certified consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before ads are requested, so you can accept or manage your choices.
Non-personalized ads: If you decline tracking or consent, we request non-personalized ads where possible.
Apple frameworks: Apple provides App Tracking Transparency and SKAdNetwork, which we use to respect your tracking choice and to measure ad performance without identifying you.

How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
Service providers ("processors") who operate the App on our behalf, including:
Supabase — authentication and database/backend hosting.
Google AdMob — advertising.
Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — optional account sign-in providers. When you use them, the provider authenticates you and shares limited profile data with us as described in Section 3(b).
Email delivery providers (e.g. Resend and Zoho) — to send verification codes and account emails.
Logo providers (e.g. Logo.dev and public favicon services) — to display company logos by web domain; these requests do not include your personal information.
Legal and safety reasons — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or WorkPal.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Job Listing Data
Job listings, company information, and visa-sponsorship indicators shown in the App are derived from publicly available sources, including government disclosure datasets and companies' public career pages. This content is about employers and roles, not about you.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
Withdraw consent to personalized ads or tracking at any time.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Request a copy of your data (portability).
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
How to exercise these rights:
Edit your profile in the App (Profile → Edit Account Info).
Change ad/tracking choices: update tracking permission in your device Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and (in the EEA/UK) reopen the consent options in the App.
Delete your account or request data access/erasure: email vince@workpal.me and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
International Data Transfers
WorkPal operates across multiple countries, and our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including outside the EEA/UK. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information during these transfers.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls provided by our infrastructure partners. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Links and Applications
When you tap "Apply," the App may open an employer's website or application page in an in-app or external browser. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
